Responsibilities
- Provide planning, coordination, and delivery of specialized nursing care for neonates in the NICU on assigned shifts.
- Perform neonatal assessments, monitor physiological status, administer medications, and manage IV therapy and related lines.
- Operate and troubleshoot respiratory support devices as indicated, including ventilation, CPAP, and high/low flow systems.
- Recognize and respond to clinical changes; participate in neonatal resuscitation and escalating care as needed.
- Develop and update individualized care plans; educate families on newborn care, discharge planning, and parental involvement.
- Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary staff within scope; cross-train and float to pediatric units as assigned.
- Document accurately in the electronic health record and maintain compliance with policy, safety, and infection-control standards.

Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (California) or eligibility to practice in California.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required.
- Experience: Minimum two years of recent NICU experience required; neonatal transport experience and prior participation in deliveries for neonatal resuscitation preferred.
- Additional credentials: Epic EMR experience required; AHA-PALS/ARC-PALS and AHA-NRP/ARC-NRP certifications as applicable; RNC or CCRN certification preferred.
- Other: Ability to work in a Level III NICU setting and to float to pediatrics as needed; valid for the duration of the assignment.
