Surgical Tech – surgical tech specialty position in Vail, CO. This travel assignment starts 05/04/2026 and runs for 13 weeks in a short-term acute care setting. Responsibilities
- Assist during surgical procedures by maintaining the sterile field and providing instrumentation as needed to the surgical team; apply sterile technique and knowledge of human anatomy and procedures; operate within AORN standards under RN direction.
- Maintain and check all instruments for proper packaging, moisture, seal, packaging integrity, sterile indicators if present, and expiration dates; help ensure a safe OR environment and proper equipment function.
- Monitor the sterile field for events that may contaminate or compromise the field and initiate corrective action under supervision.
- Build competency with Tier 1 surgical cases and contribute to ongoing perioperative care within scope of practice.
- Support patient transports, room turnovers, and room preparation; participate in Time Out processes, including briefings and debriefings, with the perioperative team.
- Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization; model professional behavior and a Just Culture in daily practice.

Requirements
- License: Licensed as a Surgical Technologist in Colorado is required.
- Education/Experience: Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program and/or licensed Surgical Technologist.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Computer/English: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, computer skills necessary for online learning, forms, and policies; working knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking).
- General: Ability to work in a hospital operating room environment; HIPAA compliant; experience with sterile technique and perioperative procedures is preferred.
