Responsibilities
- Apply aseptic technique during equipment preparation and assist with procedures; monitor for any sterile/high-level-disinfectant integrity issues during use.
- Disassemble, identify defective or malfunctioning parts, and perform preventive maintenance for procedure supplies and equipment.
- Complete all pre-cleaning requirements per regulatory standards for endoscopes, including inspection, leak testing, cleaning, high-level disinfection, and identifying needed repairs; follow reprocessing protocols and store equipment accordingly.
- Based on material and manufacturer instructions, determine high-level disinfection methods and calibrate equipment according to protocol.
- Perform ambulatory technician duties as assigned, such as obtaining and documenting vital signs and transporting patients as needed.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of endoscopy/GI lab experience; travel experience required.
- Licensure: None required
- Certifications: High-Level Disinfection (HLD) certification highly encouraged
- Must be able to work 8-hour shifts in a travel assignment
- Ability to work in a GI lab within a clinical setting located in Rochester, NY
