Responsibilities
- Provide direct, professional nursing care to ED patients across neonates to geriatrics, including triage and rapid initial assessment
- Manage airway, administer medications, IV therapy, vasopressors, and blood products as ordered; interpret dysrhythmias and respond to cardiac/trauma events
- Monitor critically ill patients, initiate procedures as needed, and assist with triage, imaging, and bedside procedures
- Collaborate with respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social services, interpretation services, and unit secretaries to coordinate care
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record; ensure patient safety and timely discharge planning
Requirements
- Licensure: Active RN license in good standing; travel candidates with pending licenses may be considered per policy
- Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience; ED experience required; travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS/CPR, NIHSS, PALS required
- Skills: Triage, airway management/intubation, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV/vasopressors, blood product administration, ventilator care, central line and chest tube care, procedural sedation, STEMI/Stroke recognition
- Education: RN program graduate; eligibility to practice in Missouri or applicable state per travel policy
- Other: Must be able to work in a high-volume ED and adapt to a rotating schedule; may be required to float within the service line
