Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for outpatient procedures, with roles that may include perioperative, PACU, or endoscopy RN duties
- Monitor patients before and after procedures, assess vitals, manage pain, and administer medications within scope of practice
- Collaborate with anesthesia teams, surgeons, and support staff to ensure patient safety and efficient throughput
- Conduct pre-procedure assessments and patient education; prepare patients for discharge with clear postoperative instructions
- Document nursing assessments and interventions in the electronic medical record; maintain infection control and safety standards
- Ensure proper patient transport and turnover for outpatient procedures; participate in post-procedure handoffs and continuity of care
Requirements
- BLS certification required
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Active RN license (state to be verified)
- Experience in outpatient perioperative care (periop, PACU, endoscopy) or similar setting preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work day shift in a 5x8 schedule
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced outpatient environment
