Travel Licensed Practical Nurse Med Surg Job
Licensed Practical Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry (Travel) position in Rochester, NY. Start on 05/26/2026 for a temporary assignment of several months. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult med/surg telemetry patients, including telemetry monitoring and frequent vitals
- Administer medications and manage IV access; perform phlebotomy as required
- Provide Foley care, wound care, and simple dressing changes; manage enteral feeding needs
- Assist with isolation precautions, patient admissions, status changes, and discharge planning in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Document patient care in the electronic charting system and communicate changes to the nursing and medical team
- Respond to clinical alarms and call bells, participate in rounding and rapid responses when indicated
Requirements
- NY state license required in hand to submit
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of med/surg/telemetry experience (RN experience referenced in notes)
- Previous charge experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
- Core skills: phlebotomy and IV insertion competency
- Ability to float to med/surg as needed; comfortable working in a 14-bed unit with variable census
- COVID-19 vaccine not required (per facility note)
