Travel Surgical Tech, surgical tech specialty, Utica, NY. Start date: 06/15/2026 for a 13-week assignment. Guaranteed hours: 40 per week. Shift: 4x10 schedule (12:30 PM–11:00 PM) with on-call. Work in a hospital setting providing general, robotic, and OR-level care for pediatric through adult patients. Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room and maintain sterile technique; pass instruments and assist the surgical team during procedures
- Scrub for general, robotic, and trauma cases; assist with neuro surgeries as required; anticipate instrument and equipment needs
- Operate and assist with the Da Vinci robotic system; ensure proper setup, instrument handling, and patient positioning
- Document intraoperative events, supplies used, and patient status in Epic EMR; ensure accurate charting
- Support patient safety and comfort, coordinate with anesthesia and nursing staff, and manage room turnover between cases
Requirements
- Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA or NCCT) or grandfathered based on experience; active certification
- Neurosurgical experience required; trauma experience; scrub experience in the OR
- Minimum 2 years of surgical tech experience
- BLS certification
- Education: completion of an accredited surgical technology program; ability to work in a hospital setting
- Ability to work a 4x10 shift and be available for on-call coverage; patient population range from pediatric to adult
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
