Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients across the age spectrum within the Med Surg unit.
- Assess patient needs, problems and concerns; perform ongoing data collection across physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive domains, including nutrition, pain, education, family involvement and advocacy.
- Identify learning needs of patients, families and caregivers and tailor education accordingly.
- Formulate a goal-directed plan of care, prioritize updates, and document the plan of care with patient/family involvement.
- Deliver care in a thorough, safe, and consistent manner; delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of the health care team.
- Document thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record; communicate changes in condition to the team; participate in unit orientation and training and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and standards.
- Educate patients, families and caregivers about plan of care and discharge needs; maintain professional communication with patients, families and team members.
- Maintain competency in required licenses, certifications and education; perform other duties as assigned and assist with orientation of staff when needed.

Requirements
- Active California RN license required.
- Graduate of an approved nursing program; current licensure in good standing.
- Med Surg nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to work the night shift (3x12 nights) on the Med Surg unit.
- Vaccination compliance per employer policy; exemptions may apply.
- E-Verify participation and Right to Work compliance; ability to work in the United States.
