Step into an essential role as a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery in California, Templeton, where your expertise guides families through life’s most transformative moments. This opportunity blends clinical mastery with compassionate mentorship, inviting you to lead with evidence, empathy, and steady hands as you support mothers, newborns, and families during admission, labor, delivery, and postpartum care. In Templeton, a welcoming community on California’s Central Coast, you’ll join a collaborative obstetric team dedicated to safety, education, and patient-centered outcomes. The upcoming assignment starts on 03/16/2026 and spans several weeks, designed to immerse you in a fast-paced, supportive setting where your clinical judgment, rapid assessment, and skilled interventions make a meaningful difference. California’s beauty serves not just as a backdrop but as a renewed source of inspiration—a state renowned for its coastlines, wine country, mountains, and redwood groves, offering moments of reflection and energy after demanding shifts.
Location Benefits: Working in Templeton places you in a picturesque, accessible part of the Central Coast, with easy access to vibrant coastal cities, scenic drives, and outdoor recreation. You’ll experience a close-knit community atmosphere paired with the robust resources of a larger healthcare system, including mentorship, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advanced technology. The role also offers the possibility to work across multiple U.S. locations, expanding your professional horizons while maintaining a stable base. Expect a schedule that supports work-life balance with time to explore California’s beaches, state parks, and regional attractions—perfect for recharging between shifts. The opportunity to rotate through affiliated sites can broaden your clinical exposure, from high-volume obstetric units to rural or suburban settings, enriching your skill set and confidence in obstetric emergencies, fetal monitoring, neonate care, and patient education.
Role Specifics and Benefits:
- Core responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care, including admission assessment, fetal and maternal monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration (analgesia, induction agents, antibiotics as indicated), coordination with obstetricians and midwives, assisted deliveries, cesarean section support, postpartum recovery, newborn assessment, lactation support, and discharge planning. Provide anticipatory guidance to families, educate new parents on newborn care and safety, and participate in rounds, care planning, and quality improvement initiatives. Demonstrate proficiency in recognizing early warning signs, initiating rapid response, trauma resuscitation readiness, and standard obstetric emergency protocols.
- Professional growth: This role emphasizes continuing education within L&D, with structured mentorship, opportunities to pursue specialty certifications (e.g., LNCC, RNC-OB, NBRC credentials), and pathways to assume charge nurse responsibilities or preceptorship roles for new graduates. You’ll refine skills in fetal heart rate interpretation, high-risk pregnancy management, pain control strategies, and postpartum assessment, elevating your expertise in maternal-newborn health.
- Benefits and compensation: Competitive weekly pay of $2,469-$2,666 reflects experience and shift patterns, with potential for contract extensions based on performance and unit needs. In addition to competitive pay, you may be eligible for a sign-on bonus, housing assistance, and relocation support where applicable, designed to reduce transition friction and help you settle quickly. While this assignment has flexible hours, there is a framework designed to optimize coverage, continuity of care, and staff wellness.
- Support and security: You’ll have comprehensive support from our travel team, including 24/7 assistance while traveling with the company. This ongoing back‑end support covers credentialing coordination, shift scheduling, clinical escalation help, housing logistics, and timely payroll processing, ensuring you can focus on delivering exceptional obstetric care. Extension opportunities provide a clear ladder for continued growth with the same employer as your preferences and unit needs evolve.
- Work environment: A values-driven culture centers on empowering staff, recognizing clinical expertise, and fostering a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative workplace. Expect constructive feedback, opportunities to contribute to process improvements, and a supportive leadership approach that prioritizes professional development, safety, and work-life integration.
