Occupational Therapist, General, in Cumming, GA, starting 09/13/2026 for 16 weeks, earning $2,142-$2,342 per week with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Day shift (8x5) in a hospital acute care setting. Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy evaluations, treatment planning, and interventions for acute care patients across the hospital.
- Support a wide range of diagnoses including ICU patients, stroke/neurological, orthopedics, and general debility; contribute to discharge planning and patient progress.
- Document patient care and progress in the Cerner Acute Care OT department; ensure timely, accurate charting from physician orders through to discharge.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (physicians, nurses, therapists, social work) to optimize outcomes and safe transitions of care.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, activities of daily living, and adaptive equipment as appropriate.
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection control practices, and safety standards; manage patient safety and quality of care during treatment sessions.
Requirements
- Licensure: Georgia OT license and NBCOT certification
- Certification: AHA BLS required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent OT experience in an acute/general specialty
- Setting: Experience or comfort working in an acute care hospital environment; Cerner Acute Care charting experience preferred
- Availability: Ability to meet the schedule expectations (day shift with weekend coverage and holiday requirements) and commit to a 16-week assignment
- Travel readiness: Willingness to work in a travel temporary assignment and comply with non-local candidate requirement (no candidates within 50 miles)
