Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate care to adult medical-surgical patients, including ongoing assessment, monitoring, wound/improvement care, and early mobility as prescribed.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, verify accuracy, document in EPIC, and monitor for adverse effects.
- Conduct regular patient assessments, interpret clinical data, and escalate changes in condition to the charge nurse or physician promptly.
- Implement isolation precautions per policy for COVID-19, Monkeypox, and other infections; ensure proper PPE use and room turnover.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, case management, and ancillary staff) to coordinate care, discharge planning, and patient education on medications, safety, and self-care.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care encounters, vital signs, input/output, and progress notes; participate in quality and safety initiatives as required.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia; Nursys license verification required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience in an acute care setting
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Ability to work the night shift and commit to guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Resume/profile with no gaps longer than 60 days; ability to provide references and certification cards upon request
- Adaptability to a hospital Med Surg environment with isolation precautions and high patient acuity
