Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered care to Progressive Care Unit patients, including monitoring and appropriate interventions.
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, develop and adjust care plans, and document in the electronic medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies, monitor for adverse effects, and report changes promptly.
- Monitor patient status, Vital signs, pain, and symptoms; respond to acute changes and escalate to the care team as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case management, and ancillary staff to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Uphold safety, infection control, and patient education standards; advocate for patient comfort and family communication.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in good standing (state-specific licensure required for assignment)
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN acceptable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS as required by unit guidelines
- Ability to perform 8-hour shifts in a PCU environment; strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Willingness to participate in a travel temporary assignment and meet the start date of 11/01/2026
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities; accurate documentation
