Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for ER patients using the nursing process and established standards.
- Assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes with critical thinking and professional discretion.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, monitor responses, and manage acute changes in patient condition.
- Coordinate care with physicians, nurses of other levels, and the multidisciplinary team; communicate with patients and families.
- Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of nursing staff during the shift, ensuring safe and effective care.
- Document care and patient status in the electronic medical record; ensure accuracy and compliance with policies.
Requirements
- Availability to work 3x12-hour night shifts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ER environment
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to document accurately in electronic health records and participate in multidisciplinary rounds
- Travel readiness and willingness to relocate to Bakersfield, CA for a 13-week assignment
