Responsibilities
- Provide skilled physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist per the plan of care
- Perform or assist with patient evaluation, gait training, therapeutic exercises, functional activities, and modalities as directed
- Implement, monitor, and document treatment plans; track patient progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Ensure patient safety during therapy sessions; monitor for adverse responses and communicate changes promptly
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, therapy aides, and other staff) to optimize resident outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and comply with regulatory and facility policies
Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in Pennsylvania or eligible for licensure
- Graduation from an accredited PTA program
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to work in a long-term care setting and participate in a 40-hour weekly schedule
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Prior experience in a rehabilitation/physical therapy setting is preferred
