Responsibilities
- Perform basic and critical respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients, as ordered by the physician and in accordance with department policies.
- Deliver respiratory therapy across all phases of care and manage supervision of others as delegated; work well with minimal supervision.
- Complete documentation in electronic medical records, flow sheets, and charge entries for each patient.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate home hospice respiratory care and ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety policies, and department protocols during all respiratory therapies.
Requirements
- Active California Respiratory Therapist license; RRT certification or eligibility
- Ability to perform respiratory care for adult and geriatric patients as ordered by a physician
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate charting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; capable of working with minimal supervision and guiding others as needed
- Willingness to work in a home healthcare – hospice setting and participate in a 13‑week travel assignment; 3x12‑hour shift schedule
- Commitment to patient‑centered care and adherence to workplace policies and procedures
