Travel Occupational Therapist Acute Care Job
KAU - IP REHAB OT Acute - Days (04/13) is a travel occupational therapy role in acute care for a 20-week assignment in Pahala, HI. Start 04/13/2026 with a weekly pay range of $1,899-$2,073 per week and no guaranteed hours. Day shift, 5x8 (Mon–Fri), 7:30 am–4:00 pm, in a Critical Access Hospital setting.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate and re-evaluate assigned patients in inpatient or outpatient rehab; plan and implement ongoing occupational therapy programs as prescribed by the ordering physician.
- Independently manage a full caseload; regularly update treatment plans and home exercise programs; document progress in the EMR systems Net Health Therapy and Meditech.
- Communicate patient progress with the rehab team; modify treatment plans based on clinical need and insurance authorization.
- Provide patient and family education on activities of daily living, safety, and adaptive strategies to facilitate functional independence.
- Ensure compliance with Hawaii state licensing requirements and hospital policies; participate in coverage for rehab services as needed, including holiday periods.
Requirements
- Hawaii licensed occupational therapist with active Hawaii OT license by start date (applicants not yet licensed must apply upon offer acceptance).
- BLS certification from American Red Cross.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience with adults in both inpatient acute and outpatient rehabilitation settings.
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) from an accredited program; eligible for Hawaii licensure.
- Proficiency with EMR systems Net Health Therapy and Meditech.
- Availability to arrive the Thursday prior to the start date for onboarding and employee health processing.
- Ability to work Hawaii state and federal holidays as necessary based on hospital operations.
