Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) – Mattoon, Illinois. Travel, temporary assignment in an inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation service within an acute care environment. Responsibilities
- Perform physical therapy procedures and related tasks under the supervising PT, contributing to the patient’s plan of care.
- Apply a variety of treatment approaches using manual techniques, modalities, and available equipment as directed.
- Monitor patient safety and comfort; adapt interventions based on patient progress and communicate status changes to the supervising PT.
- Document patient progress accurately in approved medical and facility records; ensure documentation supports payer requirements.
- Provide individualized patient and caregiver education to enhance outcomes and safety.
- Maintain patient records, support a clean and organized rehab environment, and assist other staff as needed.
Requirements
- Active Illinois Physical Therapist Assistant license
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years PTA experience (required), with strong Total Knee Replacement background
- Total Knee Replacement experience strongly preferred; Total Hip Replacement experience preferred
- Experience in a busy outpatient clinic is preferable
- Documentation: 2 Supervisory Reference Forms completed with dates employed (required)
- Non-local candidate required: 50-mile radius restriction; facility will not consider local candidates for this travel assignment
- Ability to work effectively within a rehabilitation environment and adhere to the supervising PT’s plan of care
