Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy assistant services under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist to plan and implement treatment programs for residents.
- Execute treatment plans, modalities, and activities to improve or maintain activities of daily living and functional mobility.
- Document resident progress, communicate effectively with the OT team, and contribute to updates of care plans per facility policy.
- Ensure safety, infection control, and patient handling protocols are followed during therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to support resident goals and discharge planning as appropriate.
Requirements
- Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA); active license in Texas or eligibility as applicable.
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Prior experience in a long-term care or geriatric setting is preferred.
- Ability to work the Days shift in a travel assignment and adapt to a LTC environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to document clinical progress accurately.
