Travel Registered Nurse OR Job
Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Cardiac OR) is needed for a travel assignment in Rochester, NY. Start date: 04/27/2026. Length: 13 weeks. Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in a hospital operating suite focused on adult cardiac cases. Weekly pay: $2,511-$2,555. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Responsibilities
- Independently scrub and circulate complex adult cardiac cases (e.g., CABG, TAVR/TAVI, Bentall, minimally invasive valve procedures) and other structural heart surgeries.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusion staff, and circulating team to ensure patient safety and efficient case flow.
- Maintain sterile technique, manage instrument trays, and anticipate instrumentation needs throughout procedures.
- Monitor intraoperative patient status, assist with equipment management, and contribute to safe anesthesia management as assigned.
- Prepare the OR for procedures and perform effective perioperative handoffs to the post-anesthesia care unit or intensive care setting as appropriate.
- Support transplant, VAD, ECMO, or other advanced cardiac cases when needed; transplant/TAVI/TAVR exposure is preferred but not required.
Requirements
- Active RN license in New York (NY)
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 2 years operating room experience
- Cardiac OR experience strongly preferred; level 1 trauma OR experience highly desired
- Ability to scrub and circulate in the OR
- Education: RN documentation required; degree level not specified in notes
