Responsibilities
- Perform a broad range of ultrasound exams, including general abdominal, breast, and vascular studies
- Communicate effectively with patients, obtaining history and explaining procedures to support accurate exam results
- Acquire, review, and annotate images; ensure quality and proper measurements
- Convey findings and preliminary information to the Radiologist and ordering physician
- Maintain patient data and images in appropriate systems with accuracy and confidentiality
- Adhere to scheduling demands, on-call duties, and facility safety protocols; operate with minimal supervision after orientation
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum three (3) years of varied ultrasound technology experience, including general, breast, and vascular
- Education: Completion of training at an approved school in Ultrasound
- Certifications: BLS certification (through AHA) required; ARDMS preferred
- Additional: Willingness to float to a nearby facility in the region as needed; previous travel sonographer experience preferred
- Skills: Strong patient communication, accurate imaging, and reliable teamwork in a hospital setting
