This travel assignment requires a Certified Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. The position includes weekend, call and holiday coverage. The role supports orthopedic cases and robotic-assisted procedures, including DaVinci systems. The successful candidate must be certified, have travel experience, and be able to arrive within 30 minutes of being called in.

Responsibilities
- Prepare the surgical field and maintain a sterile environment for procedures
- Scrub, pass instruments, and support surgeons during cases, including orthopedic and robotic-assisted surgeries
- Manage counts (sponges, instruments, sharps) and document intraoperative details
- Assist with positioning, draping, and patient readiness under supervision of an RN
- Operate and troubleshoot sterile technique and equipment; ensure room safety and readiness for subsequent cases
- Involve in preceptor duties as needed and support mentoring of new staff
Requirements
- Certification: NBSTSA or NCCT Certified Surgical Technologist (CST); must be certified
- BLS certification required
- Experience: travel experience and scrub experience in the operating room
- Specific skills: orthopedics experience; scrubbing experience; DaVinci/robotics experience
- Pharmacology: approved pharmacology course or prior medication experience with successful medications exam
- Licensure: CST certification required (no separate state license required)
- Availability: must arrive within 30 minutes of call
- Location rule: within 100 miles of the assignment location (Watertown, NY)
- Education: relevant surgical technology certification and foundational training
