Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor telemetry data, interpret rhythms, and respond to changes per protocol to ensure patient safety.
- Administer medications, assess outcomes, document in the medical record, and report abnormalities to the care team.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff as appropriate and coordinate care with physicians, case management, and other disciplines.
- Perform discharge planning, patient and family education, and ongoing assessment to support transitions of care.
- Uphold patient safety, infection control practices, and emergency response procedures; exercise critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making.
Requirements
- Licensure: Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure
- Certification: BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Experience: Telemetry nursing experience preferred (1+ year recommended)
- Skills: Ability to work nights in a fast-paced inpatient setting; strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Availability: Willingness to participate in a 13-week travel assignment in the specified location
