Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care as a circulating OR nurse across multiple specialties, including orthopedics, total joints, fracture cases, gynecology, robotic, urology, general, ENT, orthopedics spine, and more
- Maintain sterile technique, prepare the OR, manage instrumentation and supplies, and position the patient safely
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, assist anesthesia and surgical team, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Document intraoperative events and patient information in the electronic medical record (Epic)
- Ensure patient safety, chart accuracy, and adherence to OR protocols; participate in turnover and equipment readiness
- Participate in on-call coverage as assigned; may require call for holidays such as New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (state of practice)
- 2+ years of OR experience
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
- Epic EMR experience or familiarity preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work 40 hours per week on a 10-hour shift schedule in a fast-paced OR setting
