Responsibilities
- Conduct individualized patient assessments, document findings, and notify the Charge Nurse/MD of abnormal findings.
- Develop and implement an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
- Perform nursing procedures as ordered (EKGs, blood draws, IV starts, wound care) and maintain an organized work area; ensure patient hydration.
- Administer medications per facility policy; verify dosages, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure medication supply and safety.
- Monitor patient status, respond to emergencies per resuscitation protocols, coordinate transfers and diagnostic tests, and communicate with patients, families, and staff while maintaining confidentiality and infection control standards.
Requirements
- Valid California Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, walking, lifting, bending)
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills; able to work effectively in a hospital setting; team player
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written) and ability to follow directions and adapt to change
