Responsibilities
- Monitor critically ill patients in the ICU, perform ongoing assessments, interpret data, and respond to changes in patient status.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments; follow unit protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the broader care team to plan and coordinate patient care.
- Document nursing assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record; ensure timely and compliant charting.
- Provide patient and family education, advocate for patient safety, and uphold infection control and safety standards.
- Respond to emergencies per unit policies, participate in rapid response as needed, and support ongoing quality improvement efforts.

Requirements
- Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Nurse
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation
- NIHSS certification required
- Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months of hire
- CPI certification within 90 days of hire
- Age-specific care knowledge and ability to provide appropriate care for adult, geriatric, pediatric, and adolescent patients as assigned
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; computer literacy with EMR experience (Microsoft Office preferred)
- Flexibility to work in a high-acuity ICU setting with rotating day/night shifts and holiday coverage
