Responsibilities
- Provide direct, skilled care for Med Surg patients, including ongoing assessment, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and response to clinical changes.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, respond to nurse call bells, and communicate with the treating team and physicians to coordinate care.
- Document patient care accurately in the Epic EMR, including assessments, plan of care, medications, and changes in patient status.
- Float between medical floor and surgical/onc units as required, adhering to unit-specific ratios (approximately 1:5 to 1:6) and maintaining clinical competency across units.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during rounds, participate in discharge planning, and assist with procedures as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years Med Surg RN experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- Ability to float between medical floor and surgical/onc units
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts on a 12x3 rotation; eligible to work under the 200-mile radius rule with all RTO or schedule requests submitted at the time of submittal
