Travel Registered Nurse PACU Job
Registered Nurse – PACU in Hilo, Hawaii. This travel assignment starts 06/08/2026 for a 13-week duration. Weekly pay ranges from $1,871 to $2,043 per week. There are no guaranteed hours. Shifts are rotating within a hospital-based PACU setting.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for pre-operative, Phase I and Phase II recovery in the PACU
- Monitor vital signs, incision sites, temperature, pain, oxygenation, and other indicators to identify instability or complications
- Administer medications and support post-anesthesia recovery under anesthesia care team supervision
- Manage unit equipment (e.g., PCA pumps, Pyxis, IV pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, warming devices) and monitor patient status with HP/Phillips monitors
- Document assessments and interventions in the electronic medical record; communicate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure safe discharge or transfer
- Uphold safety, infection control, and regulatory standards; provide patient and family education as appropriate
Requirements
- Current Hawaii RN license in good standing; active by start of assignment
- BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended and may be required for specific positions
- 2+ years of critical care RN experience (e.g., ER or ICU) in a hospital setting; PACU-specific experience preferred, but ER/ICU experience may substitute
- Ability to work in a PACU/ASU environment; flexibility for rotating shifts and on-call requirements
- Flu vaccination proof or facility-approved exemption required prior to start; vaccination can be completed during employee health clearance
- Arrival readiness: Must arrive the Thursday before start date to complete health clearance and onboarding tasks
