Responsibilities
- Perform cardio-pulmonary evaluations, respiratory care, life support, and patient/family education per physician prescriptions and protocols
- Provide respiratory therapies (e.g., oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, chest therapy) and manage ventilated patients; monitor gas exchange and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement patient care plans; document care in the electronic medical record (Epic)
- Trach and airway management, weaning protocols, and escalation of care as needed
- Participate in re-evaluation and monitoring of patients across inpatient and ICU settings
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and equipment maintenance standards
Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: NYS Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT); NBRC RRT credential
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (all required)
- Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program
- Experience/Specialized training: Labor & Delivery/Neonatal Resuscitation experience required
- Onboarding requirements: Must have EPIC experience; 14-panel drug screen completed within 24 hours of offer acceptance
- New York State requirements: New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate required and must be uploaded with traveler profile
- Profile requirements: Current NY license, certifications, and relevant work history uploaded; permanent address must be included and match license/ID
- Travel eligibility: Permanent NY address required; travelers from certain NY counties are not eligible for travel assignments in this role
