Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult medical–surgical patients, including post-surgical care and common diagnoses such as abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and bariatric post-operative patients
- Monitor patient status, perform ongoing assessments, administer medications and IV therapies, manage NG and feeding tubes as needed
- Use EPIC to document assessments, medications, interventions, and patient responses; ensure accuracy and timely charting
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, follow orders, and participate in discharge planning; float to other MS units as required
- Adhere to patient safety, infection control, and unit policies; provide patient and family education as appropriate
- Respond to changes in patient condition, implement care plans, and escalate with timely communication to the charge nurse and physicians
Requirements
- Active New York RN license; NURSYS verification with ACTIVE NY License and all active RN licenses
- Current AHA BLS certification
- 2+ years of Med/Surg experience; travel experience required
- EMR experience, specifically EPIC
- Ability to float to other MS units as needed
- Driver’s license with address that matches demographics
- Local candidates accepted at local rate (<75 miles)
- RTO must be included at time of submission
