Responsibilities
- Perform chemical, microscopic, and microbiological test assays to obtain results for use in diagnosis and treatment.
- Prepare specimens and manage storing and labeling; operate manual and automatic equipment to prepare specimens and perform analytical tests.
- Conduct procedures within the scope defined by state licensure regulations, avoiding tasks that are restricted to licensed clinical laboratory scientists.
- Supervise phlebotomists, offering suggestions and guidance as needed.
- Document results, maintain quality control, and communicate findings clearly for clinical interpretation.
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and SOPs to ensure accurate, reliable laboratory operations.
Requirements
- Experience performing chemical, microscopic, and microbiological assays in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Proficiency with manual and automatic equipment used to prepare specimens and conduct analytical tests.
- Ability to supervise phlebotomists and provide guidance to staff as needed.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to safety and quality control standards.
- Ability to work in a hospital laboratory environment during daytime hours.
