Responsibilities
- Provide clinical nutrition support to patients and staff on assigned units; perform nutrition assessments and reassessments to guide care.
- Evaluate and recommend nutrition interventions and provide follow-up to ensure continuity of care.
- Counsel patients and families on nutrition principles, modifications, and food selection; tailor plans to individual lifestyles with written instruction materials.
- Document nutrition care data in the medical record using the Nutrition Care Process and standardized language; communicate care plans to physicians and support staff.
- Assist the Clinical Nutrition Coordinator with maintenance and revision of diet manuals, menus, policies/procedures, standards of care, educational materials, and quality improvement data collection.
- Deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy and Diabetes Self-Management training for individuals and groups; participate in staff education, orientation, and in-service programs.
Requirements
- Active Oregon license as a Registered Dietitian; credentialed to practice in Oregon
- Registered Dietitian Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Food, Nutrition, or Dietetics
- Dietetic internship or approved master’s program with qualifying work experience
- Minimum 1 year inpatient (acute care) experience
- Must have or be able to obtain Oregon Food Handler, Food Manager Certification, or ServSafe certification prior to or shortly after start
