Travel Occupational Therapist Acute Care Job
Occupational Therapist needed for an acute care-focused travel assignment in Monterey, California. This temporary position starts 07/20/2026 and runs for 13 weeks, with guaranteed 35 hours per week. Shifts are 5x8 days, 08:00–16:30. Setting: skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and establish patient-centered rehab goals.
- Implement evidence-based interventions to improve activities of daily living, functional mobility, safety, and independence.
- Develop and adjust treatment plans, document progress, and communicate findings to the multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and physicians to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, activity modification, and use of adaptive equipment as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with professional standards and payer requirements.
Requirements
- Active California Occupational Therapist license (or eligibility for CA licensure)
- Experience in acute care or skilled rehabilitation settings preferred
- Strong assessment, treatment planning, and clinical documentation skills
- Ability to work the 08:00–16:30 shift and a 5x8 day schedule
- Capacity to commit to a 13-week travel assignment
