Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for ICU patients in accordance with established standards of care and the nursing process
- Monitor patients with critical conditions, including shock, trauma, and life-threatening events; apply clinical assessment and timely intervention
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies; monitor responses and adjust care plans as needed
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
- Document patient status, progress, and changes; communicate clearly during handoffs to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and other specialists to develop and implement patient care plans
- Maintain patient safety and infection control practices; respond to emergencies and escalate as appropriate
Requirements
- Current, active RN license (state-specific licensure required to practice in the assignment location)
- ICU/critical care nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a fast-paced ICU environment
- Availability for a 13-week travel assignment
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Capable of collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and providing patient- and family-centered care
