Responsibilities
- Assess patients, interpret evaluations and test results, and develop physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription; monitor progress toward goals.
- Help patients achieve treatment goals by administering manual exercises, instructing and encouraging activity, guiding daily living activities, and assisting with use of assistive devices.
- Administer therapies and modalities (e.g., manual therapy, traction, physical agents, hydrotherapy, ultrasound) and supervise aides/technicians as needed.
- Evaluate treatment effects, adjust plans, participate in discharge planning, and design home exercise programs for patients and caregivers.
- Document care in patient records, maintain confidentiality, adhere to infection control and safety protocols, and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
- Contribute to team knowledge through in-service training, ongoing professional development, and collaboration with other care providers as needed.
Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy license issued by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation, and ability to apply this across pediatric to geriatric populations.
- Ability to work in a hospital-based rehabilitation setting and collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other team members.
- Strong documentation, communication, and patient education skills; commitment to patient confidentiality and safety.
