Responsibilities
- Deliver professional oncology nursing care in the infusion area, ensuring adherence to cancer care policies, procedures, safety and infection control standards.
- Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy agents per physician orders, including monitoring for adverse effects and managing symptoms.
- Assess patient health history, monitor physical status through frequent visits, and address emotional well-being and patient education needs.
- Serve as a primary communications conduit for patients and families, relaying information and feedback to physicians and the care team.
- Perform in-office procedures as directed, triage patient care needs, and participate in ongoing quality improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record, leveraging EPIC experience to support care continuity.
Requirements
- 2 years of chemotherapy administration experience
- EPIC electronic health record experience
- ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Certification required
- Ability to work in an outpatient infusion/cancer care setting
- Authorization to work in the United States (no remote or sponsorship details provided)
