Travel Registered Nurse LTC Job
Registered Nurse (LTC) - Lewiston, Maine, United States
Start date: 06/29/2026 | Duration: 13 weeks | Pay: $1,937–$2,022 per week | Shift: 3x12 Nights
This travel RN role is in a hospital setting with multiple clinical units serving long-term and short-term resident needs. Units include a 31-bed dementia-focused area, a 42-bed short-term rehab/recovery unit, and a 42-bed long-term care unit. The RN provides direct and indirect nursing care to residents, partnering with the care team to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and individualized care plans.

- Location-based requirement: Candidate must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Lewiston, ME
- Note: St. Mary’s reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract
- Eligibility: RN license valid in Maine or a compact state; licensure hits are not eligible per program rules
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and indirect nursing care to residents across dementia, rehabilitation, and long-term care units
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, perform IV therapy, and provide wound care as appropriate
- Conduct geriatric assessments and participate in care planning with an interdisciplinary team
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members using verbal and non-verbal techniques
- Respond to changing conditions, document accurately in the medical record, and escalate issues as needed
- Support a therapeutic, home-like environment and adapt care plans to meet individual resident needs
Requirements
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Licensure: Active RN license valid in Maine or a compact state
- Experience: 1–3 years of RN experience preferred
- Skills: Medical terminology; strong teamwork and communication; ability to float to other units as needed; flexibility to cover 24/7 operations
- Residency: Must reside outside of a 50-mile radius from the assignment location
