Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing PT evaluations for residents in the long-term care setting
- Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence
- Deliver direct patient care, including therapeutic exercise, gait training, manual therapy, and modality use as appropriate
- Document progress, adjust plans as needed, and communicate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Educate residents and families on home exercise programs, safety, and use of assistive devices
- Ensure compliance with documentation, regulatory standards, and safety protocols; supervise PT aides as assigned
Requirements
- Current, valid physical therapy license or eligibility to practice in the United States
- Ability to work with an elderly population in a long-term care environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; meticulous documentation
- Clinical competency in evaluation, treatment planning, and progress documentation
- Willingness to commit to a 13-week travel assignment
