Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for cardiology-focused PCU patients, including post-catheterization, STEMI, and structural heart care
- Monitor telemetry, administer medications, perform IV therapy, and respond to clinical changes
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing teams, and ancillary staff; document in the EMR (EPIC) and ensure accurate, timely charting
- Assist with procedures, patient positioning, and post-procedure recovery when applicable
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and quality indicators; respond to early warning signs and codes as trained

Requirements
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS required; NIHSS is required prior to start
- Experience: minimum 2 years of RN experience; large trauma level 1, teaching facility experience preferred
- Unit experience: cardiology-focused with post-catheterization, STEMI, and structural heart patient care
- EMR: EPIC experience within the past 2 years
- Scheduling and flexibility: floating to central pool PCU units; able to work a rotating day/night schedule; minimum every-other weekend; schedule may be adjusted to meet unit needs
- Transportation: reliable transportation required; public transportation is not accessible in this area
