Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate basic nursing care to adult residents in a correctional healthcare setting, under supervision.
- Administer prescribed medications and document administration accurately in the charting system.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, respond to changes in condition, and report observations to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Perform routine wound care, dressing changes, and other approved procedures within the scope of practice.
- Collaborate with registered nurses, physicians, and other health professionals to support care plans and ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain infection control standards, manage patient safety protocols, and uphold confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Requirements
- Active LPN license in Alabama, in good standing.
- Completion of an approved practical nursing program.
- Experience in long-term care and/or correctional healthcare settings preferred.
- Ability to work night shifts (23:00–07:30) and maintain 40 hours per week.
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills; proficient in basic charting and care coordination.
- Willingness to work in a corrections setting and adhere to facility policies and safety procedures.
