Occupational Therapist — Acute Care — West Branch, MI, US. Start date: 06/22/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,163 to $2,283 per week. Guaranteed hours: 40 per week. Shift: 5x8 days (Mon–Thu 8:00 AM–5:30 PM, Fri 8:00 AM–12:00 PM). This travel temporary assignment involves working in an acute care setting with supervisory responsibilities for OT staff as permitted by policy.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient function by performing formal and informal testing to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular status, as well as developmental, social, and cognitive functions.
- Develop a goal-driven treatment regime based on assessment data and patient tolerance, to be implemented within the plan of care.
- Submit a written treatment regime to be included in the plan of treatment, coordinated with the physician; update the plan of care as patient status changes; co-sign verbal orders as necessary.
- Schedule treatment frequency and duration specific to the patient, coordinating with patient/family/caregiver and clinical support staff.
- Educate patient, family, and/or caregiver regarding pathology or condition, prognosis, and rationale for treatment through rest, exercise, modalities, and other indicated interventions; supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students per standards.
Requirements
- Active Michigan Occupational Therapist license
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification
- Occupational Therapist experience required, primarily in acute care with some outpatient
- Two Supervisory Reference Forms completed within the last two years
- Skills Checklist current within the last year, pertinent to the specialty
- Permanent address must be outside a 50-mile radius of the assignment location; local candidates within 50 miles will not be considered
