Registered Nurse - MS/Tele in Rochester, NY. This travel assignment supports adults and geriatrics on a cardiac-focused Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a MS/Tele unit with cardiac diagnoses, including telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation.
- Administer medications, manage IV lines, deliver oxygen therapy, and perform non-invasive airway support as needed.
- Adhere to isolation precautions and use appropriate PPE; maintain patient safety and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Transportation, Unit Secretary) to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Respond to Rapid Response and Code events; participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses in the electronic charting system (Epic) with accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion; support patients and families with education and care planning.
Requirements
- Licensure: New York RN license in hand at submission; pending licenses not accepted.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience; first-time travelers accepted; travel experience not required.
- Certifications: BLS; NIHSS (listed in posting) required.
- Skills/Competencies: Telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation and management; peripheral IV care; non-invasive airway management; isolation precautions; oxygen delivery.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited RN program and active licensure in NY.
- Epic/Charting: Epic experience preferred or required per posting; ability to chart accurately and efficiently.
- Location rule: Candidates located more than 75 miles from the facility will be considered; local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted.
- Additional: RTO restrictions apply (no more than 1 week; confirm with recruiter); COVID-19 vaccine not required; background checks reviewed case-by-case.
