Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, preparation, packaging, and sterilization of instruments and endoscopes using appropriate methods (steam and low-temperature sterilization); maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols.
- Reprocess GI endoscopes and related accessories, ensuring high-level disinfection and sterile technique in accordance with SOPs and regulatory standards.
- Manage loaner trays, instrument tracking, and case carts; verify contents, tracking, and sterilization indicators; document cycles and maintain instrument integrity.
- Support multiple service lines and complex instrument sets including robotics, general, cardiac, orthopedics, ENT, neuro, urology, and other specialty areas; handle delicate instruments and implants as required.
- Operate and monitor washer-decontaminators, sterilizers, and related equipment; optimize loading, cycle times, and instrument readiness.
- Maintain accurate processing logs, quality control checks, and readiness for OR cases; communicate issues promptly to the SPD leadership and OR teams.

Requirements
- Certification: CRCST (HSPA) required; other national certifications (CER, CIS, CHL) may be considered as additional qualifications.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years SPD experience; 1 year of experience in a level 1 academic medical center with 20+ operating rooms; recent case pick and sterilization experience; competent in sterile instrument reprocessing and GI endoscope reprocessing.
- Specialty and skills: Central Supply/Sterile Processing expertise; proficient in decontamination, prep and pack, steam sterilization, low-temperature sterilization, and endoscope reprocessing; familiarity with Olympus scopes and washers; experience with loaner trays; exposure to DaVinci Robot Xi is preferred.
- Work history and environment: Ability to work in a high-demand, multi-service-line environment; demonstrate recent, relevant SPD experience; no block scheduling required; travel assignment readiness and reliability.
