This travel assignment focuses on delivering quality occupational therapy services to a predominantly Native American population across inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation needs. The role involves evaluating, planning, and implementing medically prescribed OT interventions, documenting in the electronic health record, and collaborating with rehabilitation and medical teams. The assignment is a temporary travel opportunity with a multi-week duration and a structured 5x8 day shift.

Responsibilities
- Assess patients from birth through geriatric, interpret evaluation results, and determine OT treatment plans in collaboration with prescribing physicians
- Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans to meet patient goals related to physical, cognitive, emotional, and developmental needs
- Document patient care and progress in the electronic health record; communicate outcomes to the rehabilitation team
- Promote maximum functional independence through therapy interventions and adaptive strategies
- Provide specialty OT services as indicated (e.g., custom orthoses, sensory integration, cognitive treatment, activities of daily living)
- Support departmental operations for both inpatient and outpatient services; participate in relevant specialty clinics as applicable (e.g., spinal cord, functional, geriatric, assistive technology/adaptive equipment)
- Educate and train students and staff; collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health professionals
- Maintain credentialing core privileges per organizational policy and professional standards
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program
- Licensure: Valid, current, full and unrestricted OT license in Arizona or eligible for licensure in Arizona
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Experience: Minimum of two years’ licensed OT experience; strong orthopedic skills preferred
- Credentialing: Must meet requirements to be credentialed to serve on the medical staff; ability to work in acute care/clinic settings
- Other: Excellent collaboration and documentation skills; ability to work with a diverse patient population
