Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to patients from birth through geriatric, supporting rehabilitation for developmental, cognitive/mental, emotional, and physical needs
- Assess and interpret evaluations and test results; develop and implement medically prescribed OT treatment plans with realistic goals
- Document care in the electronic health record; monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to maximize independence
- Promote independence by selecting and adapting therapies aligned with the patient’s goals and abilities
- Maintain the OT program for both inpatients and outpatients, including coordinating specialty services when indicated
- Contribute to specialty clinics as available, including Spinal Cord, Functional, Geriatric, Assistive Technology/adaptive equipment evaluation, and the Durable Medical Equipment/Orthotic Supply Program
- Provide training and in-services for students and staff; collaborate with the rehabilitation team and other health care professionals
- Ensure compliance with credentialing, ethics, and profession-scope standards; support ongoing quality improvement and safety initiatives
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program
- Licensure: Current, valid, unrestricted OT license from the American Occupational Therapy Association and Arizona Department of Licensure, or eligibility for Arizona licensure
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of licensed OT practice; strong orthopedic skills preferred
- Credentialing: Must meet requirements to be credentialed to serve on the Medical Staff; provide all required information
- Ability to work in an OT service setting that includes inpatient and outpatient care; ability to chart in an electronic health record and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
