Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult residents in a long-term care setting, including monitoring and assessing health status.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and document accurately in the charting system.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Monitor for changes in residents’ conditions, respond to urgent situations, and escalate to the charge nurse as needed.
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and quality standards.
- Educate residents and families about care plans, medications, and post-acute needs; support discharge planning as appropriate.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts.
- Education: Nursing degree from an accredited program (ADN or BSN accepted).
- Experience: Prior long-term care or geriatric nursing experience preferred.
- Certification: CPR/BLS certification is preferred or required by the employer; details provided during hiring.
- Ability to work the listed night shift in a long-term care setting and to meet credentialing and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and standard nursing documentation; ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
