Laboratory Technologist (Medical Technologist) – Fort Bragg, California. This travel assignment supports a Critical Access Hospital laboratory. Start date is 07/06/2026 for 13 weeks on a Day shift schedule consisting of four consecutive 10-hour shifts (4x10s). Weekly pay is $1,553–$1,637 per week. Guaranteed hours are not guaranteed. This role focuses on microbiology with Cerner LIS experience in a fast-paced hospital lab environment.

Responsibilities
- Perform microbiology testing on clinical specimens following approved laboratory procedures, including processing, culture, staining, and susceptibility testing as indicated.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot microbiology instrumentation; document quality control, instrument logs, and results in the Cerner LIS.
- Ensure accurate data entry and timely reporting of results; communicate critical findings per policy and participate in effective shift handoffs.
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements; monitor inventory, reagents, and QA/QC processes; participate in troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with laboratory team and clinical staff to support needs, maintain pipeline of specimens, and ensure accurate patient data and specimen management in the LIS.
- Maintain compliance with accreditation standards and internal policies; engage in continuing education and competency assessments as required.
Requirements
- Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license
- Cerner LIS experience in microbiology (required)
- ASCP certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a closely related field
- Relevant clinical microbiology laboratory experience
- Ability to work a 4x10-hour daytime shift in a laboratory setting and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
