Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessment, triage, and continuous monitoring for emergency department patients.
- Administer medications and interventions per physician orders, including timely administration via Pyxis.
- Document patient care accurately in the DT EMR and communicate changes to the ED team.
- Assist physicians and nursing colleagues with procedures and emergency interventions, including airway management as needed.
- Monitor patient status, identify deteriorating conditions, and respond promptly to changes in acuity to ensure patient safety.
- Support discharge planning and provide patient and family education as appropriate.
Requirements
- 3+ years ER nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications
- Ability to perform 12-hour night shifts in a high-acuity, fast-paced ED
- Experience using a DT EMR system and Pyxis medication access
- Comfortable with a 14-bed ER unit and patient ratios around 4:1 to 5:1
- Start date: ASAP
