Responsibilities
- Provide direct post-anesthesia recovery care for PACU patients, including airway management and vital sign surveillance
- Monitor patient status, assess pain levels, and respond to changes in condition; intervene per physician orders
- Administer medications and therapies as prescribed; manage IV access and drains as applicable
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and other nursing staff; communicate patient status during handoffs
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the Cerner electronic medical record
- Support higher-acuity cases as assigned and maintain unit safety, infection control, and patient throughput
- Participate in unit workflow during holidays and ensure continuity of care for thoracic, orthopedic, neurology, vascular, urology, and general surgery cases

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience
- ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- NIHSS certification
- Cerner electronic medical record experience
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a 24/7 PACU unit with holiday call
- Willingness to meet holiday coverage requirements (two major holidays and one minor holiday)
