Travel Registered Nurse First Assist Job
Registered Nurse, First Assist (RNFA) – Templeton, California, United States. Travel - temporary assignment beginning 05/25/2026 for 13 weeks in a hospital perioperative setting. Shift is 4x10-hour days (40 hours per week). Weekly pay range: $2,813 to $2,975. The RNFA provides perioperative nursing care under the direction of the primary operating surgeon and leads, when appropriate, within the perioperative team.

Responsibilities
- Perform the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care across the perioperative continuum.
- Assist under the direction of the primary operating surgeon in perioperative care; fulfill RNFA responsibilities, including leadership in the operating room and adherence to sterile technique.
- Coordinate, manage, provide, and delegate patient care; collaborate with the health care team to promote safety, quality care, and efficient workflow.
- Document care and maintain clear communication with the surgical team; ensure standards of nursing practice are met and uphold patient advocacy.
- Adhere to facility policies and guidelines; meet personal accountabilities as defined in the Tenet Standards of Conduct (Service, People, Quality, Growth, Cost) and maintain professional leadership in the assigned role.
- Report to the Director of Perioperative Services and participate in continuous improvement of perioperative care processes.
Requirements
- Active RN license in California
- RN First Assist (RNFA) certification or documented perioperative first-assist experience
- Ability to work in a perioperative setting and to function under surgeon direction
- Willingness to work a 4x10-hour shift schedule and to participate in a travel assignment
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills; adherence to professional standards and facility policies
