Responsibilities
- Input and contribute to the formulation and ongoing updates of the patient care plan based on assessments and progress.
- Attend weekly clinical staffing and review the patient treatment plan with the interdisciplinary team.
- Directly provide medication education to patients and families and document appropriately in the patient chart.
- Monitor and document emotional and mental status, reporting changes to medical and clinical staff as needed.
- Lead or participate in teaching/educational groups and collaborate on de-escalation strategies; train LPNs and MHTs in charting, vital signs, routines, and de-escalation techniques.
- Actively participate in PI teams or unit task forces; maintain Therapeutic Options certification up to date and serve as a positive role model for patients and colleagues.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Oklahoma.
- Minimum 2 years of psychiatric/behavioral health nursing experience.
- Certifications: NIH and BLS (AHA) current.
- Therapeutic Options certification current.
- De-escalation training preferred.
- Ability to work the 3x12 night shift in a hospital setting.
